Summer Camps: Week 11!

HANNAH BEAN  \  AUGUST 18, 2020

Last week was the very last full week of The Art Garage's 2020 Summer Camps...and what a wonderful week it was! In the mornings, our 6-8 year old campers dove into textile artistry by creating wondrous weavings using tube knitters made from recycled materials, looms made from sticks and cardboard, and creating an amazing collaborative piece that now calls The Art Garage home.  Meanwhile, our 9-12 year old artists fell into the world of tunnel books, creating their own stories and designs for these three dimensional stories and bringing them to life! In the afternoons, 4-8 year olds became amateur Egyptologists while creating artwork inspired by ankhs, death masks, hieroglyphs, and scarab beetles while our 9-12 year old class created a myriad of marvelous masks including animal masks and giant abstract masks inspired by artist Kimmy Cantrell. It seems like just yesterday that we welcomed our very first 2020 campers into the studios and we can't believe it's already been 11 weeks of creativity, fun and sun!
