Community Programming

The Art Garage's Community Engagement Programs use art to heal, inspire, and empower. We work with people who are at-risk, under-served, and individuals with developmental, intellectual, mental, or physical disabilities.

We collaborate with schools, disability organizations, behavioral health partners, residential treatment centers, and day habilitation programs. Workshops happen at our studio or at our partner's location, in a safe, nonjudgmental environment that encourages exploration and creative self-expression.

Each partnership is designed around the people it serves. Activities vary depending on the partner's needs, and programs run year-round in flexible durations.

Community Partners

  • Black Arts Festival

    The mission of the Colorado Black Arts Festival (CBAF) is to seek to involve the total community in helping to establish self-reliance, believing that pride in one’s culture is the foundation for long- term stability and prosperity.  The Colorado Black Arts Festival strives to develop, promote and celebrate Black arts and culture in Colorado. The Art Garage joins the children’s pavilion at the festival and facilitates art activities for festival goers.

  • Grovewood Community Development

    The Art Garage collaborates with Grovewood Community Development  at Nine Mile Station to provide art classes to residents 62 and over who want to expand their talents to include art.

  • Dirt Coffee Bar

    The Art Garage is proud to partner with DIRT Coffee Bar on the Mosaic Campus for art shows and more.  DIRT Coffee is a non-profit with a “mission to cultivate intentional workspaces for the neurodivergent population to gain meaningful, integrated, and equitable employment.” DIRT also provides Disability Justice Training for other non profits and organizations.

  • Adams County Pride

    Adams County is proud to celebrate love, family, and community with our fifth annual Pride event! Join local artists, musicians, drag performers, and vendors for an afternoon filled with excitement and passion. Plus, experience joy-in-motion through art, live DJs, and roller skating with Denver’s own Rainbow Dome!

  • Park Hill Street Fair

    The Art Garage hosts a table and provides hands on art activities for participants. Working closely wth the Greater Park Hill Community RNO, The Art Garage brings family activites to the street fair.
